Disclaimer: Radiology and Radiography vs. X-Ray Medical Tech. The Heritage X-Ray – Medical Technician® – Medical Assistant program offers training in limited-scope x-ray, in addition to a traditional medical assistant curriculum. A limited-scope x-ray technician may also sometimes be known as a General X-ray Machine Operator (GXMO) or a Basic X-ray Machine Operator (BXMO). Limited-scope x-ray operators are not radiologists, radiographers, radiography technicians, or radiology technicians (“rad techs”), however they can do many of the routine x-ray tasks that are common in most medical offices.
