Welcome to our Little Rock EMT School for the training of emergency medical technicians. Graduates of the Heritage EMT program are qualified to seek employment providing first responder emergency medical health care. Emergency Medical Technicians must be knowledgeable in all aspects of emergency medicine.

The Heritage EMT - Basic program prepares graduates to be qualified to apply for employment with ambulance services and acute emergency facilities.

EMTs administer first aid or life support care to sick or injured persons in pre-hospital settings. They perform emergency treatment procedures such as airway management, heart monitoring, and spinal and extremity immobilization. They must exercise considerable judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. During the pre-hospital treatment, they communicate with dispatchers and treatment center personnel in order to arrange reception of victims and receive instructions for further treatment. EMTs are trained to operate equipment, such as automated external defibrillators (AEDs) and bag valve mask resuscitators, in life support environments.

Heritage College is institutionally Accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).

Disclaimer: EMT vs. Paramedic - What is the Difference?

The most common certification in emergency medical services (EMS) is the emergency medical technician (EMT). There are two levels of certification that are common to almost every state, EMT – Basic and EMT - Paramedic. Heritage offers a short program that leads to EMT - Basic certification. A more advanced level of training is often known as EMT - Paramedic. Heritage is not an EMT - Paramedic School, and does not offer paramedic training. Please note that states will sometimes use different names for various levels of EMT and Paramedic certification.
